Rancho Grande, situated in Northern Umbria right on Tuscany border, is a large, very attractive farmhouse with barn which has been sensitively restored by its artist owner to maintain the ancient origins. The house belongs to a famous choreographer and bursts with drama and a sense of fun: it's comfortable, lived in, furnsiehd with country antiques, original beams and antique floors. Terraces and grounds of 3 acres merge into panoramic country side: Rennaissance hilltop villages, vineyards, olive groves, cypress, poppies and sunflowers. The gardens are professionally landscaped and contain a magnificent pool which is surrounded by fragrant rosemary and lavender. Views are magical, the atmosphere is tranquil. If you want peaceful, Italian country life in ancient and artistic surroundings, you may well find yourself falling in love with Rancho Grande. On entering the main house you pass thru a fine brick arch into an incredibly atmospheric entrance hall. The living room keeps up the pace with its antique wooden floors, enormous convases and open fire place. There is music system with 6 speakers to ensure you can enjoy the beat. The kitchen is comfortable and practical with a large oak dining table and all the usual modern accoutrements, like dishwasher, and nearby utility room with freezer and washing machine. Near the kitchen there is a second sitting room off which there is an inviting covered veranda which offers a happy place to lounge. In the upper floor there are 3 large bedrooms bursting with charm, 2 bathrooms, a study with fax and a beautiful terrace. The barn across from the main house is a simple little hideway for two: a sitting room with stone fireplace, a double bedroom, bathroom and CD-stereo system. The Pool, 49ft x 18ft, 5,5ft deep is operational from the 1st of June to the end of September and is surrounded by terraces and walkways, flowers, shaded terraces and shower. Area Details This unspoiled corner of Italy is especilly renowned for its romantic mediaval villages, its valleys and varied vegetation. Within easy reach are Arezzo, Cortona, Florence, Siena, San Gimigniano, Pisa, Chianti-Region, Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, both, Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea. Jewel-like villages, such as Cittą di Castello, Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo (the artist's birthplace) are closeby. Cittą di Cstello which is 8 km away hosts in summer Umbria Jazz, the Chamber Music Festival of Nations, the National Horse Show and the National Fair of White Truffels in November. Some very good restaurants and winebars, from family run to elegant style dining are in the nearby villages. The famous Restaurants "Il Bersaglio (white truffels), Prince Charles favourite and "Il Postale", mentioned on the Guide Michelin, are just 8 km away. At 10km you will find a 9 whole golf course and at 5 km distance a thermal bath. Help at hand: we live close by in the next village and are happy to advise and help our guests. Travel Details Set in the hills of Rennaissance town of Cittą di Castello, the property is not isolated and is very conveniently located, just 10km from the E45 superstrada. The position on Umbrian/Tuscan borders make Rancho Grande a perfect base for touring Umbria, Tuscany and le Marche.

Balance due 2 months before arrival. A deposit of 25o euros is required to cover damage. Exact directions will be mailed to you after booking.
