Property Details
The traditional Watermill Alte Bachmuhle is over 200 yrs old, the oldest building in the village. The Mill has been sympathetically converted into 8 luxury apartments. Gretl is a cosy 2 bedroom south facing apartment, with a very large south facing balcony across the whole of the front of the apartment. There is free wi-fi for guests, cable TV, DVD/CD player, I. pod dock. Safe heated ski/boot store, available in summer for walking equipment and bikes. Large gardens with grassed area suitable for children to play in safely. Area Details Viehhofen at 865m is located in this breathtaking region of Salzburgerland surrounded by the Gernkogel, Schmitt & Sausteige Mountains, rising to 2,175m with over 200km of Alpine skiing. Nearby is Zell-am-see and Kaprun that add even more skiing and Viehhofen is only 20 minutes from the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier rising to over 3,200m, where you can ski all-the-year-round.
Viehhofen, has its own well run ski school for adults and children over 3 yrs old, who can also be looked after over lunchtime if necessary, there is a Nursery slope for beginners in the centre of the village at the ski-school meeting area. You can ski back down into Viehhofen from the main ski area on a blue run which joins up with the nursery slope in the village. You can sometimes ski back to the apartment, snow permitting from the blue run into the village ski slope. There is a well-stocked supermarket, Bank/24 ATM, Tourist Information Office, 2 ski hire shops and several restaurants and bars well worth visiting. Viehhofen has something for everyone winter and summer. Travel Details 1hr 20 mins away from Salzburg airport which has Good public transport links by bus, train, car or private shuttle. The local ski bus runs every 20 mins in the high season & every hr at other times in the summer. The bus stops at the bottom of the road, just 50m away from the apartment.In high season the buses run throughout the evening and until late so you can go into Saalbach or Hinterglemm for the evening. There are 3 local bus's (a free ski bus, a Post bus, and a Nightliner). These bus's run at regular intervals along the valley throughout the day & evening, stoppimg at all the villages and ski areas.
