Property Details
Three lovely stone gites (sleep, 4,6 and 6) set in idyllic rural location in Lot-et-Garonne, South West France. There is a 10.5m x 5.5m pool, with a mini pool and waterfall, with plenty of sun loungers and space for sunbathing.
The gites have all been carefully restored to leave many original features including beams and exposed stonework.
All are well-equipped with washing machine, fridge/freezer, cooker and microwave, and all have their own private terrace with barbecue. Satellite tv and dvd is provided, and all houses have a selection of family games.
Grand Soleil (sleeps 6) is adjacent to the pool, and is ideal for families wishing to keep an eye on their children in the pool. Downstairs there is a spacious kitchen, shower/wc, and a living/dining room with sofas/armchairs, tv and dining table and chairs. Plenty of indoor family games are provided. Upstairs there is a double room with views towards an 11th century church, and two twin rooms overlooking the pool.
Couchant (sleeps 6) is an 'upside down' gite, with one double and one twin bedroom on the ground floor. This ensures they stay delightfully cool during our hot summers. Also downstairs are a bath/shower/wc and a shower/wc. A separate staircase leads to the third twin room. This is much loved by children who feel they have their own 'den' away from their parents and yet still within easy earshot! Upstairs is the spacious living/dining area with comfy sofas, dining table, and tv. The high ceilings are dominated by large beams. Well-equipped kitchen. Steps lead from the living area out to the terrace with barbecue and to the secluded garden.
Levant (sleeps 4) has a large living/dining area with well-equipped kitchen. French doors lead to a pergola-covered terrace with barbecue. Stone stairs lead upstairs to a double and twin bedroom, with pretty shower/wc. Area Details A beautiful area of gently rolling hills. In spring the area is covered in fruit blossom from the many varieties grown here |(cherries, apples, pears and plums for the famous 'Agen prunes) and in the summer the fields are breathtaking with acres of sunflowers.
The region is full of historical interest and was much fought over during the 100 Years War. There are numerous bastide villages to explore, along with colourful markets selling the wonderful local fruit and vegetables.
We are also close to wine-growing areas, and trips out can include the wonderful scenery of the Lot and Dordogne valleys, Cahors and St Cirq Lapopie, and the larger cities of Toulouse and Bordeaux.
We have two 9-hole golf courses within 30 minutes, horse-riding, water-sports. go-karts, and the Parc Walibi theme park in nearby Agen. For those with more peaceful pursuits in mind, this is a wonderful area for walking and nature-lovers. Travel Details None locally. Car essential.
