Property Details
The tiny hamlet of Faysselle conmprises three beautiful gites (sleep 4, 6 and 7) set in 12 acres of idyllic countryside in Lot-et-Garonne, south West France. There is a 10,5m x 5,5m pool, with a mini pool and waterfall, with plenty of sun loungers and space for sunbathing.
The gites have all been carefully restored to leave many original features including beams and exposed stonework.
Levant sleeps 4 in two bedrooms - one double and one twin.
Large living/dining area downstairs, which remains delightfully cool during our hot summers. The kitchen is well-equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, cooker and microwave. French doors lead to a private shady terrace with BBQ, with views across the valley.
A stone staircase leads from the living area to a galleried landing. A double bedroom over looks fields behind, and the twin room overlooks Faysselle's gardens. Pretty shower/wc. Area Details A beautiful area of gently rolling hills. In spring the area is covered with fruit blossom from the many varieties grown here (cherries, apples, pears and plums for the famous 'Agen prunes') and in the summer the fields are breathtaking with acres of sunflowers.
The region is full of historic interest and was much fought over during the 100 Years War. There are numerous bastide villages to explore, along with colourful markets selling the wonderful local fruit and vegetables and endless varieties of cheese.
We are also close to the wine-growing areas of Buzet, Duras and Cahors, and trips out can include the wonderful scenery of the Lot and Dordogne valleys, Cahors and St Cirq Lapopie, and the larger cities of Toulouse and Bordeaux.
There are two 9-hole golf courses within 30 minutes, horse riding, water-sports and go karting. The Parc Walibi theme park is in nearby Agen and a water park in Valence d'Agen.
For those inclined to more gentle pursuits, this is a wonderful area for walking and nature-lovers. Travel Details A car is essential.
Five minutes to village with shop, bar and restaurant.
