The traditional Chalet of Alte Bachmuhle is over 200 yrs old, the oldest building in the village. The Chalet has been sympathetically converted into 8 luxury apartments. Gretl is a cosy 2 bedroom south facing apartment, with a very large balcony across the front and can sleep upto 6 people comfortably. The open plan living area and modern facilities make it an ideal apartment to rent for small groups and families wanting a comfortable, cosy and relaxed holiday accommodation. We also have Cable TV/3 DVD players/I.pod dock and free wi-fi for all our guests. Large private balcony, lockable,heated Ski/boot room/bike store. Sauna. Large gardens with grassed area to sit ou,t or for children to play safely. Area Details Viehhofen at 865m is located in this breathtaking region of Salzburgerland surrounded by the Gernkogel, Schmitt & Sausteige Mountains, rising to 2,175m with over 200km of Alpine skiing. Nearby is Zell-am-see and Kaprun that add even more skiing and Viehhofen is only 20 minutes from the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier rising to over 3,200m, where you can ski all-the-year-round.
Viehhofen, has its own ski school/kindergarten and beginners ski slope, and buses connect regularly to the main skiing area. There is a well-stocked supermarket, Bank/24 ATM, Tourist Information Office, 2 ski hire shops and several restaurants and bars well worth visiting. Viehhofen has something for everyone winter and summer. Travel Details 1hr 20 mins away from Salzburg airport which has Good public transport links by bus or train into Zell-am-see just 5 km away, which connect you with the local bus to Viehhofen with stops at the bottom of the road, just 50m away from the Chalet. There are 3 local bus's (a free ski bus, a Post bus, and a Nightliner). These bus's run at regular intervals along the valley throughout the day & evening, stoppimg at all the villages and ski areas. You can ski back from blue ski route 68 that finishes in the centre of the village (Snow permitting)
