Palm Trees at 207 Glitter Bay, St James, Barbados is a stunning, spacious (1300 sq ft) two bedroom, two bathroom recently re-designed and refurbished 5 star luxury apartment that sleeps up to 4 adults or 2 adults and up to 3 children. It is on the first floor of a 2 story building, and has views over tropical gardens, palm trees, the pool, and down to the beach and ocean.

Palm Trees has a relaxed tropical feel, and is perfect for a honeymoon or romantic getaway, or for families in the school holidays. The apartment has all the features you would expect in a top hotel, and is modern, tasteful, bright, comfortable and practical. There is air conditioning in all rooms.

The master bedroom is very romantic with a king-size six foot wide 4 posted mahogany bed, CBC service TV, DVD/CD player, and en-suite luxurious marbled bathroom with large walk-in shower. The bedroom opens out directly to the terrace sitting area; guests have said that waking up to the view of the tropical gardens, palm trees, and down to the beach from the balcony is like being in paradise.

The second bedroom has a stunning hand-made-on-the-island colonial style wood and rattan bed-head and matching furniture, with a 6 foot king bed, that can also be arranged as twin beds, and CBC service TV with integral DVD/CD player. We can also provide on request a third bed or cot for this room so as to accommodate 3 children. There is a second luxurious marbled bathroom with a bath/shower.

The living room is furnished in colonial style with stunning settee, chair, sideboard, and side tables. There is a coral and glass coffee table, a 42” plasma TV with satellite channels, and DVD/CD player (all DVDs are US format).

The kitchen at Palm Trees has granite work-surfaces and is fully equipped with modern white Italian cupboards, and with Smeg dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob, and fridge freezer. There are two bar stools and a bar to have a drink before dinner.

A feature of Palm Trees is the large terrace balcony with a dining area with table seating 6, and a separate relaxing area with corner sofa, chairs, and coffee table. There are ceiling fans on both terraces (essential for comfortable dining !).

Eleanor, our lovely maid, comes six days a week to clean, and to change the bed linen and towels (twice a week). She is very friendly and will do all she can to help make your stay happy and memorable.

Many of our guests return year after year, and to make sure you have a great holiday we have tried very hard to include as many thoughtful extra touches as we can, such as

• There is a washer/dryer in the apartment and we offer cleaning of personal laundry and ironing of guests clothes at no charge.
• Complimentary local telephone calls.
• Direct international calls without any mark-up, using the Cable & Wireless “Call the world using your credit card” facility.
• Use of our games library.
• Use of our books library
• Use of our beach bowls; pool lilo; snorkels, masks and flippers.
• Use of the apartment safe.
• A travel cot and high chair can be arranged if required.
• Late departures arranged where possible (if not possible then bags can be left at reception and with the gym available to wash and change before leaving).
• Although Saturday -Saturday arrival/departure is normal, we will consider other days if possible on request.

We can also provide some additional chargeable services on request to help you to enjoy your stay:

• Hire of a 4-5 seater executive saloon fully loaded automatic, with air conditioning, electric windows and central locking at £35/day - a saving of at least 10% compared with local firms. The minimum rental period is 4 days, and the rate includes standard insurance collision damage excess of BD$750.
• Access to an exclusive Palm Trees Concierge, Dave Young. Dave offers a range of services including taxi hire, grocery shopping; obtaining DVDs; island tours; sunrise breakfast on the east coast; island tours; and trips to the many local events held throughout the year. These services are a fantastic way to get to know Barbados, and to integrate with island life.
• A child minder/baby sitter (we can arrange in advance on request; payable locally).
• A cook (we can arrange in advance on request; payable locally).

Area Details
Barbados is an island in the Caribbean sea to the east of the Windward Islands. It has acres of rolling green sugar cane fields; a breathtaking coastline of soft sandy beaches lapped by calm turquoise waters of the Caribbean on the west cost; expanses of wild surf crashing onto the wide sandy beaches of the Atlantic east coast; and exotic trees and shrubs such as banyan, mahogany, flamboyant and poinsettia.

There are fine, colonial-style plantation houses and villages of houses brightly painted in classic Caribbean colours, surrounded by gardens of frangipani and hibiscus. Barbados is a paradise island, highly recommended if you have not been to the Caribbean before, or if you want a tropical beach holiday with plenty of sightseeing activities.

Palm Trees is apartment 207 on the famous and newly refurbished Glitter Bay Estate, in the parish of St James on the “Platinum” west coast of Barbados. The apartment is within beautiful tropical gardens with swaying tall coconut palms that overlook the turqouise Caribbean Sea.

The apartment is but a few steps walk through the gardens past the freshwater pool to the half-mile stretch of beautiful west coast Barbados white sand beach. The setting is peaceful and relaxing with a feeling of space, freedom, and tranquility that is rare to find in Barbados today.

Palm Trees is 12 miles from Grantley Adams International airport, 8 miles from Bridgetown, 1 mile north of Holetown, and 2 miles south from Speightstown. There is a large supermarket (Super-Centre) at Holetown, plus clothes shops, pharmacy, gift shops coffee shops, restaurants, and a medical centre.

All the staff at Glitter Bay are exceptionally friendly, and will leave you with great memories of Barbados and the people. The excellent facilities available at Glitter Bay include: a concierge; complimentary use of beach loungers and beach towels; complimentary wireless internet; a lovely sunset bar serving drinks, cocktails, and food at lunchtime; a complimentary beach service; a large pool with separate children’s pool; complimentary use of two tennis courts and a well equipped gym.

A wide range of water sports are available from the beach, with water skiing, sailing, diving, paragliding, and water-bikes provided at a small charge. There is fantastic snorkelling from our beach and it is possible to swim with turtles. World class golf courses are near by at Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland.

Many of the restaurants on the west coast are world famous (eg Sandy Lane, The Cliff, and Lone Star). There are several restaurants within a short walk along the beach, for example the Palm Terrace in the 5* Royal Pavilion hotel, Ju Ju’s beach bar, and the Lone Star (described as the Ivy of the Caribbean). Walking along the beach in evening to and from dinner is an unforgettable romantic experience.
Travel Details
A car is recommended (we can arrange rental); if you do not require a car, a taxi rank is close by and buses run from outside the Glitter Bay Estate.
