Situated on the northernmost part of the Island of Ithaca overlooking Afales Bay and across the sea to the island of Lefkas, Villa Marina’s backdrop is guaranteed to take your breath away. With stunning uninterrupted sea-views and surrounded by pine and olive trees, this property will offer you a glimpse into why Odysseas was so desperately keen to return home. It is perhaps by no coincidence that Ithaca was immortalized in The Odyssey as an eternal symbol of destination and sense of purpose. Area Details Villa Marina sleeps up to 4 people (an extra sofa can be provided upon request that can sleep 2 more). The property sits in a secluded environment near the village of Aghii Saranta with its own private swimming pool and spacious gardens with BBQ area. There are two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles. The Villa has three bathrooms, two upstairs (one en-suite) and one downstairs. The large comfortable living room is equipped with TV/DVD, Satellite and HiFi and leads directly to the balcony with its spectacular view of Afales Bay. Last but not least, the Villa provides a large and spacious kitchen, leading directly to the garden overlooking the Bay. The Villa is walking distance from the archaeological site School of Homer which recent discoveries link it to the elusive palace of Odysseas and Penelope, and stage to the dramatic finale of The Odyssey. If you fancy a swim in the Ionian sea, all you have to do is walk the paved road surrounded by forestry down to the secluded beach of Afales Bay. The village of Stavros with plenty of amenities is also 5 minutes driving distance from Villa Marina.
