Property Details
Camano Island is about 60 miles north of Seattle. Tyee Beach is about 3 miles from the southern tip of Camano Island. From there the view is from Everett to the south to Stanwood to the north. You can see the shore of Marysville across Port Susan. You can also see Mt. Index and often Mt. Baker. The Tyee Beach community is a typical (for the area) beach community consisting of lots of 40 to 120 feet of waterfront. This is 80 feet. While it doesn't have the appearance of seclusion, the nearest neighbors are not full time residents (there are a few, I'd say 25%, full time residents on the beach) and do not utilize their property very often. The area is constantly being upgraded, and there are beginning to be stories of houses being bought to be torn down to put up new construction. Our house was originally built in 1946 as a 1 story 2 BR of about 1000 square feet. In 1978 there was a second story added, also about 1000 square feet and 1 BR eliminated on the 1st floor and a BR and full bath put on the second floor. The second floor consists of a huge bedroom (about 16 X 25) decorated with French antiques, the bathroom, an additional private room with a king size bed, wet bar and mini fridge, (I believe it cannot be called a bedroom because there is no closet), and then a big open room. It can be used for partying and/or several cots or sleeping bags/mattresses can be laid out. The first floor has a BR with a full bathroom. The kitchen has a drop in stove and the oven is a wall oven. There is a double sink, dishwasher and 2 refrigerators (one just outside the back door). There is a wood burning stove and Berber wall-to-wall carpeting on each floor. A unique feature is that there is what we call a cabana. It is a finished room of about 500 square feet over one of the 2 garages. It can be used as a great place to put the kids or another couple or family for privacy. There are TV's with basic cable (Dish Network (R) Satellite may become available upon request) and VCR's and several movies (the local small store, about ¾ to 1 mile away, has a video section also), of course these can be hidden if the plan is to get away form that; several books and a few games. There is a free standing steel BBQ. Camano Country Club and Golf Course is about 12 miles away. Fishing, crabbing, and shrimping are excellent right out front and in the nearby areas, in season and with proper licenses, of course! The crabbing is especially good directly in front of the place with limits reached almost every day. We have crab traps that you can use. It is a very cool house and location, and everybody that has seen it loves it. It is a great place to take a vacation, have a holiday, or just get away for a few days.
