A delightful traditional stone luxury villa, in a select position on a peaceful hillside with wonderful views over the picturesque, sophisticated resort of Kalkan. The villa is fully equipped, and furnished to a high standard.4 Bedrooms all en-suite. Air-conditioning throughout. The historic town of Kalkan is situated on Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast and was once a simple Turkish/Greek fishing village. Today's Kalkan is quietly sophisticated and postcard pretty with a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants, mainly looking out over the beautiful harbour and bay, offering all manner of culinary delights to cater for any budgets, together with a good selection of stylish and atmospheric blues and jazz bars. Unlike some other Turkish coastal resorts, Kalkan's main economy derives from tourism and consequently, its inhabitants put much effort and pride into the town's historic preservation. As a result of very strict building regulations and the efforts of the Kalkan Foundation, the town has retained its charm and special ambience. The wonderful hospitality of the Kalkan people is another reason why the first-time visitor invariably returns time after time. Travel Details A car is not necessary but does offer extra flexibility. The nearest airports are Dalaman in the summer and Antalya in the winter. Transfer from Dalaman is approx 1hour45mins and 3 hours from Antalya. Both are pleasant journeys. Cost of transfer which can be arranged from Dalaman to Kalkan is approx. £90 return (Max. 4 people) Minibus £130 return (4-12 people).
Dolmus (bus) can take you to all the sites nearby at a very reasonable cost.
There are a few businesses that organise day trips. - to such places as Kekova, Xanthos or Tlos. All Lycian archaeological ruins of towns well worth a visit, go river walking up the Saklikent Gorge. Visit the protected beach at Patara 18 Km of almost white sand, horse riding here in the mornings. Kalkan has a pebble beach, across from this beach is a water sports centre which will collect you for free on their water launch here you can jet ski, snorkel and water ski to name a few sports. Scuba diving can be arranged. Visit the mud baths at Dalyan. Go horse trekking for the day or rough terrain driving in jeeps. Paraglide from mountains.
