The haunt of the rich and famous, Cannes is the Riviera home of glitz and glamour. Its boutiques are elegant and exclusive, its casinos are places in which to be seen. The famous Grand Boulevard de la Croisette is perfect for an evening stroll past the famous gardens and palm trees.
Tall palms framing the perfect panorama, sweeping bays of soft white sand hemming a deep blue sea, Belle Epoque buildings and beautiful artworks, colourful markets, crowded marinas and pastel-washed villages clinging to the hills between the soaring slopes of the Alps and the sparkling shores of the Mediterranean. Running westward from Menton\'s citrus gardens, past the modern towers of Monte Carlo, through arty Nice and stylish Cannes, the Riviera reaches St Tropez via the perfume town of Grasse and the pine scented forest of Juan-les-Pins, the Roman resort of St Raphael and fashionable Frejus. Effortlessly aiming to be all things to all people, this sun-soaked centre of chic and charm offers everything from strolling to scuba diving and from ancient sites to entertaining nights.
Gastronomie - Nicoise salads, Ratatouille, gigot lamb, and the famous bouillabaisse fish stew are all specialities of the region. Snack food stalls abound in Nice for both savoury and sweet pastries, and picnicking is perfect for fresh food sampling. Accompany your feast with one of the region\'s rose wines.
